Existing tools for modern languages are not optimal for analyzing ancient languages, especially Ancient Greek. While these tools are effective for lengthy texts, they struggle with shorter passages and fail to differentiate between verses belonging to different authors within the same text.

The proposed workshop aims to improve existing tools to analyze texts in ancient languages, particularly Ancient Greek and to a certain extent, Latin since some of Josephus’s writings were preserved in Latin.

The goal is to create a community of researchers working in digital analysis of ancient Greek and Latin to share resources and collaborate on finding solutions to common problems. This will save everyone time and effort by eliminating redundant work. Brainstorming will lead to new discoveries for solving shared challenges.
